Refuelr started in a garage in Newtown after its founder paid $2.24 a litre for U91 — then saw a mate across town fill up at $1.72 the same afternoon. That 52c gap became an obsession.
We launched the first web version in late 2024 as a simple price-comparison tool for Sydney drivers. Within weeks, requests came in from Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and everywhere in between. We rebuilt the backend to handle live feeds from every state and territory government — each with its own data format, quirks, and refresh cadence.
Today, Refuelr pulls live data from every state and territory feed, normalises it into a single map, and surfaces the cheapest station near you in real time. We also model price cycles — the predictable weekly rhythm most Australians don't know exists — so you can fill up on Tuesday instead of Thursday and stop funding the spread.
Where we are today
Live feeds from all 6 states and territories, covering 8 capital cities, refreshed every 30 minutes. The map costs nothing to use, and it always will.
